FAITHFUL Giving
In Exodus 36 we are given an account of the building of the first tabernacle. The Israelites gave freewill offerings toward the construction and beautification of the new worship space, and their donations exceeded the need. "So all the skilled craftsmen who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left their work and said to Moses, 'The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.'"
In writing to the Corinthians, Paul speaks of the generosity of the Macedonian Christians, giving toward the work of God and His church with such generosity that they amazed him. "Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints."
All we have is bestowed upon us by God, to sustain both our needs and wants. Out of abundant thanksgiving and trust in God who gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior and has freely given us everything we have, we return a portion of our blessings to Him.
